Should i leave home to keep my parents together?

heres the thing, i was sexually abused as a child, it was complicated, cus the guys who did it were both under 16 and it went on for years, from when i was 6 to like 14. when i told my mum and step-dad, just before my 16th birthday, about the same time my step-dads mum died, everything started going bad. my step-dad hasnt spoken to me for two years now, only shouting and accusations, he calls me a slag and stuff.

Be kind to yourself. none of this is your fault, without giving too many details, is it possible that your step father in any way caused, or could have prevented what happened to you? because, strange as it may sound, the way he is behaving sounds like guilt to me.

maybe you could talk to a housing association that supports young people, social services or your school to find if there is any way you could board out with another family or in some kind of supported bedsitter at least until you’ve finished your studies? you shouldn’t have to put up with this kind of abuse no matter what the circumstances. you really shouldn’t feel that you have to leave your home town until you want to for yourself.
