Second Careers

How to become a teacher as a second career?
I approach retirement at age 55. I have a bachelor's, master's and MFA. I would teach science, economics, government, geography or history, in the 6th through 12th grade in Orange County, California. My company will pay for any education I want to achieve as long as I'm working here. I do not want another degree, just what I need credentials to teach. Where do I start?
I agree with LJC. With the grades, you should have no problem being able to start teaching in one of these themes. You will to go to your county school board and try to talk to someone Altermative licenses. Most likely, you have to take a test in your area (that are fairly easy) then you will have your temporary teaching certificate and can start teaching in grades 6-12. Most likely need to take education classes 4-5 in 2-3 years to obtain their professional license. If you are part of their county license alternatives, usually paid for it (sometimes, depends on the item will show whether they will pay for it or not).
