If you are working in Ireland, it is important that you are aware of all rights and benefits entitled to an employee in Ireland. The Irish Government has implemented a number of acts to ensure that employees are protected from exploitation by their employers.

The first thing to consider is the maximum number of hours a week you can work in a given period. For employees in general, this network is 48 hours worked per week over a period 4 months old. It is also important to note the minimum rest periods that an employer must allow. 11 hours of rest every 24 hours and 1 period sleep 24 hours a week preceded by a daily rest period, ie 11 hours. One issue that few people seem aware of what there is to break the rights are real. The following are the standard rest periods under the Working Time Act. It should be noted however that these times may change if a collective agreement in place which has been approved by the Tribunal. The standard times are: 15 minutes where more than 4 hours worked, 30 minutes, where more than 6 hours have been developed This may include the first break.

The next major concern of people is usually their holiday entitlement. These can be calculated in three ways.

1) 4 working weeks in a year's leave in which the employee works at least 1360

hours (unless it's a year's leave in which he or her employment trends).

Month 2) 1 / 3 of a working week to schedule the employee works at least

117 hours.

3) An 8% the hours an employee works in a leave year (but subject to a maximum

4 weeks of work).

The law will also allow the nine standard public holidays. If the holiday falls on a day the employee normally works, then the employee is entitled to a well deserved day whether the daya pay an additional penalty, a paid day off within one month of the day, or an extra day of paid annual leave for the holiday.

What can you expect to earn as an employee of Ireland. The Irish National Minimum Wage from 1 July 2007 raised € 8.65 for an adult worker with experience. For workers under age 18 and adult workers without experience can apply different rates for you to talk to your employer rates of pay before to take a new job.

A number of other sections of the rights of workers who try in my next article below is a list of the recommended course to follow to make a complaint against an employer.

If you feel that your current employment contravenes any of these laws over you must apply the complaint form for Employment Rights Information Unit or the Office of the Commissioner of Rights.
