On Careers Outside Voices

Help with AS Choices?
I’m trying to make my final decisions on what to take at AS level.
My career aspiration is to be an actress/musical theatre actress and have been told by tutors that I have the potential to follow this career path.
I train in Singing outside of school and have a high grade in Voice examination so I am not interested in taking Music. I also train in Dance and Drama but have no formal qualifications in this yet (currently taking GCSE Drama and BTEC Performing Arts).
I was thinking about taking Drama, Dance, English Literature and Psychology at AS Level.
Do you think these courses would help me gain admission to Drama School or would other combinations be better?
xenglishrogerx- I’ve been advised against a BTEC as it isn’t as highly regarded by some Unis and Drama Schools (apparently). Would you say a BTEC would put me in better stead for Drama School admission?
I think A levels are more attractive to Uni’s and drama schools.
I think you should take the AS levels you are thinking about and just make sure you carry on the singing. Make sure over the next two years you are in all the drama productions you can because you will need to write about this in your UCAS application. Also try and do some work experience at a theatre.
If you do all this it will make you very appealing for the top schools.
