Linn-Benton Community College is located in Albany, Oregon, and is two years, the public university of the Community. Linn-Benton Community College offers associate degrees in a wide variety of different topics. Two of the degrees offered are Associate of Science with specialization in Animal Science or an Associate in Science with emphasis in Science Equine.

Students will be able to effectively communicate their ideas and ambitions using vocabulary that is specific to the industry.

Students who complete an Associate Degree in Science with emphasis Equine Science will be able to:

Apply skills of horse breeding as a transfer student.

Nutrition Research, basic management, marketing, health, breeding, and training of horses.

Communicate with different professionals Equine using appropriate vocabulary.

Successfully manage records and finances using computation skills and technology.

The courses that students must successfully complete allowed to transfer to four-year school, which will have the opportunity to complete undergraduate degrees. The Students who choose to pursue one of the equine programs should have a strong background in life sciences and mathematics. Students must complete several running in chemistry, biology and mathematics as well as the different courses that focus on the basic high school prospects. There are also courses available that provide practical experience of teaching in animal science and equine related fields.

All classes are held in very modern classrooms and laboratories that are equipped with microcomputers, microscopes, laboratory equipment and other necessary for students to complete their course. There are a lot of emphasis placed in the hands on activities and experiences. Some classes will require that students use some of the local livestock producers in the field laboratory exercises.

Students are also allowed the opportunity to participate in a cooperative work experience program. Students who are enrolled Science program in the animal can earn up to 14 hours of college credit for job training they receive through the Linn-Benton Community College Program Cooperative Work Experience. Students who are interested in this option should speak to their major area instructors and coordinator of the Cooperative Experience.

For students who are ready to enter the workforce, Linn-Benton Community College also offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Management horses. The horse management program is a vital part of the department of equine. The program is in a state of the art facility and emphasizes both improvement management training of horses. The students attending Linn-Benton Community College and carry out any of the offered animal science and equine related degrees experience the best education available, or are planning to enter the labor market after two years of education or if they plan to continue their education attending a four-year institution.
