Job help (science related).?

I want to be a Astromony/General Science Journalist, (someone who travels to different science events around the world and then writes about them, perhaps for a newspaper or magazine.)
Plz help, i just need to know what qualifications/subjects i will need (starting from GCSE preferably) all the way up to university, (if neccessary).
Also, could you give me some tips on how to get into the general field of Astronomy/Science Journalist.
Thanks!
P.S. Could you also give a rough estimate of how much this job will pay.
Thanks again!

Science journalists are often scientists and medical doctors who turned to journalism, having a talent of writing about science subjects. It may be best to maybe in college major in journalism and either double major or minor in biology or another science, since science journalists need to be proficient in both. You should definitely try to get an internship during the summer months, or possibly during the semester while you are in school. It is excellent experience and you could walk away with an excellent reference and possible job offer when you graduate. It is also a great way to network and get your name out there. Your professors will be an even bigger help, being as they went through the same thing you will go through. I am adding a website that might help on the journalism side.
