describing Boolean search, please explain?
I had to get a few key terms of zoology and mine are,
Zoology
-Colleges
-Degrees
-Career
-Jobs
then it says to write one paragraph describing the Boolean search combination that resulted in the best hits.
I don’t get it, can someone please explain?
A boolean operator is used to distinguish which results you will get in a search engine.
Common boolean operators are “and” “or” and some engines may allow you to use “xor”.
For example “apples and oranges” will give you pages with both apples and oranges. “apples or oranges” will give you pages that talk about either one or both. “apples xor oranges” will give you pages with only one of the criteria. Apples but not oranges or oranges but not apples.
The questions is asking you how you ordered these items in a search engine (using boolean operators) to get the best results.
