Do home video game testers really exists or is that only the biggest scam ever?

I recently made a lot of research online. I want to be a game tester, but live no where near any developer. and the only thing I get to Google's use of evidence of origin of the game are these three or four websites for sale wat a scam that has heard of pay for work. but either way, if someone tells me if you are or know a video game tester that the home event.

I'm almost 100% sure that there are genuine jobs game tester, but very boring. I am an avid gamer, but not would be a tester if I could help. It tends to get only a small section to play over and over and over and over so if it does so in a slightly different manner that causes an error / accident etc, you can pick up on it. From what I hear most successful testers are to play in the skill levels of high-end and enter tournaments, etc., so that the company that developed the game for the announcements. For example, Blizzard recruit many of the best players of Starcraft and Warcraft and things than just play each other (in their new StarCraft 2 alpha / beta, for example) to test balance, strategies, get their opinions, etc. Balance testing is a big thing.
