I have a drug test for new job (Wed), on Fri I took 1/2 a vicodin for a toothache (not RX) should I report?

I had a wisdom tooth pulled yesterday morning and I got accepted for a job yesterday afternoon. My concern is with the drug test today. I took several over the counter medications during the weekend to try and decrease the pain from the tooth. On Friday I also took 1/2 a vicodin due to the pain being so severe. The vicodin was prescribed to my wife awhile back. Will 1/2 a vicodin show up five days later? Also should I inform the lab that I took the half even though it was not prescribed to me? Happy to say the tooth is gone and so is the pain, however, now I have anxiety due to this issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You’ll be fine. These drugs are metabolized right away, and anyway, employers are not looking for OTC pain relievers. You don’t have to tell anybody you did not have a prescription for the vicodin, but you can tell them that you took some and when. If there is any problem, you have the proof of the tooth extraction and the legitimate provenance of the drug.
