why dont feminists encourage women to take up finance and engineering careers to close the wage gap?
finance and engineering careers pay more, give more chances to rise up the heirarchy and ultimately you earn more.
significantly fewer women choose these professions than men. women. this is a major cause of gender based wage gap.
so why dont feminists encourage/convince women to take up these careers.
Feminists DO encourage women to take up careers in finance and engineering. Women are encouraged to pursue non-traditional careers by their teachers, peers, scholarships specifically for women, etc.
I just moved to a new city to complete my masters. Of the first six people I met, three were female engineering students.
